Jet Airways Mumbai-Nagpur flight air hostesses allegedly molested by passenger

New Delhi: In yet another horrific incident, two air hostesses of Jet Airways flight no.9S24460 were allegedly molested by passengers on board Jet Airways Mumbai-Nagpur flight. According to the reports of leading portal Times Of India, a written complaint has been submitted to the flight captain against the accused who was travelling on seat no. 41E. Reports in the portal also claim that the accused Akash Gupta, a 23-year-old hardware trader, was allegedly drunk and was handed over to Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) by the captain Gopalsingh Mohansingh.

The CISF contacted Sonegaon police, who arrested Gupta on the charges under section 354 of Indian Penal Code (IPC)– outraging the modesty of a woman.He has been sent to magisterial custody. As per the reports, the accused, Akash Gupta, was returning from his Goa vacation. He boarded the Jet Airways flight for Nagpur at Mumbai airport.
Times of India quoted cops as saying, ” Gupta, who had probably consumed liquor in Mumbai, grabbed the hand of the two air hostesses when they were serving him the meal. The air hostesses immediately informed other crew members who stopped Gupta. But he argued with them too, so they informed the captain.”
However, this is not the first case when air hostesses have been molested on a flight. Last year, a 29-year-old man from Gujarat was arrested for allegedly molesting an air hostess on board a Mumbai-bound flight from Dammam in Saudi Arabia. The accused identified as Mohamad Ambudkar was travelling from Saudi Arabia and during the entire journey, he forcefully tried to take a selfie with an air hostess, a senior official of Sahar police station had said.
