Kamal Haasan undergoes surgery for fractured leg
Chennai, July 14 (PTI): Tamil cinema icon Kamal Haasan today suffered a leg fracture due to a fall at his office here and underwent surgery at a private hospital where doctors termed his condition as “stable.”
A medical bulletin issued by the hospital said the 61- year-old National Award winner was admitted with fracture in the right leg.
“He underwent surgery. He is stable. He will be in the hospital for next 2-3 days,” a medical bulletin from Apollo Hospital said.
The actor suffered the injury after slipping from the stairs at his Alwarpert office in the wee hours of Thursday.
He had recently returned from the US where he had gone to film his latest directorial venture ‘Sabash Naidu,’ a trilingual comedy flick, also starring popular comedians Saurabh Shukla and Brahmanandam.
The ‘Vishwaroopam’ star, who will be seen sharing screenspace for the first time with his daughter Shruti in the film, had taken up direction of the movie after the original director Rajeev Kumar, fell ill.
