Swami Vivekananda SmritiKarmayogi Award 2016 held on Thursday, 10 th November, 2016 at Constitution Club, New Delhi.

Awardee – Hon’ble  Shri B. Lalthlengliana ( alias Thangkura).

Awarded by Padmasree Ram BahadurRai.

Chief Guest – Hon’ble Shri Faggan Singh Kulaste, Union Minister of State, Health and family welfare.

Other Guest –Hon’ble Shri A. L. Hek, Ex-Health Minister, Meghalaya

After lighting of the lamp by honourable guests, national song VandeMataram was sung by the children from North East from VanwasiKalyan Ashram Hostel Narela.

The Award ceremony program started with documentaries of My Home India and ‘Sapno se Apnotak’ another chapter of My Home India initiative.

 

After documentaries, Shri PraragNerurkar, National PRO, My Home India introduced the floor about the award, chief guest and the invited dignitaries. After this, the dignitaries and chief guest addressed the floor.

They said:

Ex-Minster, Meghalaya State Hon’ble Shri A. L. Hek who was presiding the ceremony said: -“ When we think of My Home India, is a home, away from home”. I admire the efforts of My Home India the work for the north east people. We live in Bordering states and work as Border Security force to protect our country called India.

Chief Guest Hon’ble Shri Faggan Singh Kulaste (Union Minister of State for Health &Family Welfare): My personal experience working with tribal people is very long. I saw a demonstration against state govt. in Manipur, I realised how sensitive they become when government goes against tribal traditional culture. It is the rich culture and tradition which makes the tribal people proud of themselves. He also remembered, tribal leaders who fought in freedom movement like RanimaGaidenluie, U Kiang Nongbah and several others.

Shri Sunil Deodhar (Founder, My Home India)–Karmayogi award is been given to Hon’ble Shri B. Lalthengliana for his work in MizoTradtional Culture, Music, Drama & many more. His contribution to Mizoram and Mizo Society is immense. He started the movement to preserve and promote the indigenous religion (SwaDharm) of Mizo community. His Popular “Thangkura” drama made him the icon of Mizoram. As you cannot forgot the Popular hindi Film dialouges of Ajeet“ saresahermujhe lion kenaam se jantahain” from the movie Kalicharan. The whole Mizoram knows Hon’ble Shri B. Lalthlengliana as “Thankura”.

A documentary on Hon’ble Shri B. Laltheglina prepared by My Home India team was displayed. It highlighted the life, work and achievements of Hon’ble Shri B. Laltheglina. Padmasree Ram BahadurRai presented the Swami Vivekananda SmritiKarmayogi Award 2016 to Hon’ble Shri B. Laltheglina. Shri Laltheglina was presented the Karmayogi Trophy, a memento and One Lakh Rupees cheque.

It was followed by the address in Mizo languages by Hon’ble Shri B. Lalthengliana. Shri Sanjay translated into Hindi for the crowd.

Hon’ble Shri B. Lalthengliana (Awardee) – on receiving this award from My home India. I would like to thank My Home India and VanbashiKalyan ashram for their support and recognition of my work. I have tried to revive all the traditions and traditional sports of Mizoram, which perhaps people have forgotten in these days. We are trying to educate the society through our dramas and music.

Padmashree Ram BahadurRai( Chairman, Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts) – This award ceremony reminded me of my first journalist job in north east. Remembering Late LalDenga the first Chief Minister of Mizoram, his victory, his accord with late Rajiv Gandhi. The whole North East people needs rest of India, and the rest of India needs north east.
