Kashmir: Protests erupt aganist the death penalty to Kashmir man by Bengal court
Clashes erupted in a Kulgam village against death penalty to a Kashmiri man by a Bengal court on Sunday.
Witnesses said that people took to streets to protest against death sentence awarded to a local youth Muzaffar Ahmad Rather in Mohamadpora area of Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Police and paramilitary forces deployed in the area burst teargas shells to disperse the protesters, triggering clashes.
Muzaffar Ahmad and two others were awarded death penalty by a Bengal court on charges of sedition.
