Kavitri Sammelan in Hardayal Municipal Heritage Public Library was a treat to ears

To celebrate the centenary of Hardayal Municipal Heritage Public Library, a grand Hindi poetess Kavitri Sammelan was held at the premises of the library, Chandni Chowk. The Sahitye Kala Academy award winner for the year 2015 was Chief Guest of the function.

A cream of renowned Hindi Poetess namely Baljeet Kaur Tanha, Manju Shakya, Urmil Gupta, Bharti Aggarwal, Shivani Jain Sharma, Kanta Ray, Vinay Pawar, Sonisha, Neeta Saini, Madhu Khanelwal and Rekha Rohtagi were present at the Kavitri Sammelan.

At the outset, the Chief Guest praised India for the movement for Gender Equality, almost in all the country, on priority in India. The constitution provides Gender Equality and Empowerment of women as guiding principles of our constitution. And under the shelter of the constitutional umbrella women have climbed at the highest political and social status. They are Fighter Pilots, Director General of Police, Universities Vice Chancellors and Chief Minister. Whereas in the so called developed countries and the rich countries their status is a second class citizen in comparison to their man folk.

Nasira Sharma appealed to the elite in the society and the Govt. that a wide discussion in the form of seminars, workshops in the universities and in public meetings be held countrywide. It will create an atmosphere of Gender Equality.

The Kavitri Sammelan started at 2 pm by huge gathering of students, women, political leaders and Delhiwallas was kept spell bound by recitation of their quality of Kavye. The sammelan ended at 7 pm though the gathering was insisting for its continuous.

Dr Shobha Vijender made forceful argument in favor of Gender Equality and Women Empowerment and said that the future of India rest with the women intellectuals.
