KBC – Season 15’ contestant Anand Raju Kurapati moves Amitabh Bachchan with his story of struggle and determination

Welcoming an array of contestants who wish to change their lives with the power of knowledge, the 15th season of this reality quiz show mirrors the spirit of change that is sweeping India. From moving tales to memorable moments, the hotseat has seen it all but it was contestant Abhishek Garg, from Haryana, who will bring a sense of humor and quirky answers to the hotseat this week.
A 26-year-old doctor with a twist, he’s preparing for the UPSC exams and might be the unique ‘black sheep’ in a family of doctors! Abhishek’s upbringing is a medical marvel, with doctor parents, a sister who is pursuing medicine, and with relatives who are doctors as well. The family dynamics reached a point where Abhishek, a general physician himself, would prescribe medication to his father, who would then cross-check with his brother for confirmation. Hoping to carve his own path, Abhishek set his sights on the UPSC exams, aiming to combine his medical background with public service in a distinctive way. When host Amitabh Bachchan mentioned the topic of marriage prospects, Abhishek playfully hinted at his mother’s matchmaking efforts, and successfully managed to keep a lid on his own romantic secrets. Upon Mr. Amitabh Bachchan’s inquisitive question about having a girlfriend, Abhishek cleverly responded, saying, “Main na haan kahunga na, na kahunga” (I won’t say yes, nor will I say no), evoking hearty laughter.
Claiming the coveted 50 lakh rupees prize money on the show, Abhishek joyfully shared his plans, saying, “I have dreams that I want to fulfil, and this amount will help me do that. I’ll start by paying off my family’s home loan and then invest wisely for our future. All my hard work has paid off, and I’m grateful to Kaun Banega Crorepati for igniting hope within me.”
