New Delhi (India), April 15, 2023: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing them of misusing the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to target their political rivals.

Speaking out after being summoned by the CBI in the liquor policy case, Kejriwal alleged that the agencies were using false claims and torture to extract confessions.

Kejriwal also challenged the agencies to produce evidence of the allegations against him and his party. He accused the CBI and ED of lying to the courts and falsely claiming that 14 phones were destroyed. He also accused them of making thuggish threats against suspects, including targeting their families.

The Chief Minister vowed to sue the agencies for perjury and falsifying evidence as he prepares to appear for questioning tomorrow as requested. The summons to Kejriwal comes as his party, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), tries to establish itself as one of the main alternatives to PM Modi’s BJP.

The CBI is investigating allegations that the liquor policy implemented by the Delhi government gave undue advantages to private retailers and resulted in crores of dollars in kickbacks.
