New Delhi, 14 November 2022: With regard to the alleged Delhi Jal Board fraud, the Bharatiya Janata Party has made several accusations against AAP leader and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on Monday, further insisting on filing an FIR against him.

The central government had alleged that the Delhi Jal Board had been engaged in a major scandal since 2015.

While the Delhi government has received more than 22 letters from the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) requesting a board audit, no response has been received, it continued.

The BJP maintained that the loss incurred by the Delhi Jal Board is Rs. 57,000 crores. The Jal Board made a profit of Rs 700 crore in 2015 under the Kejriwal government. With Corporation Bank, it had a contract for bill collection. As Corporation Bank deposited funds in fictitious accounts, it was reported in 2018 that money did not get to the board’s account.

Kejriwal was aware of the scam but did not report it and despite being aware of Corporation Bank’s role, he continued to extend the agreement between DJB and the bank, they claimed.

“When Kejriwal got to know about this, he did not file an FIR and instead, he extended the contract with Corporation Bank for two more years and also increased their commission,” they said.

The party also demanded an FIR be filed against him stating, Arvind Kejriwal was the chairman of the Delhi Jal Board at the time when the scam involving Rs 200 crore occurred.
