Kejriwal slams Delhi governor over termination of 400 employees from different ministries

New Delhi, 04th July 2023: After Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena terminated the services of over 400 private individuals employed by the Delhi Government in various ministries, the AAP-led Delhi government confirmed that they would challenge the decision in court.

Lt Governor Saxena terminated the service of 400 private employees working in various departments of the Delhi government yesterday, citing the fact that these individuals were working in a non-transparent way and without the obligatory approval of the relevant authorities.

“The LG is hell-bent on completely destroying Delhi. He chose to punish these 400 talented young professionals only because they chose to associate with the Delhi government. No principles of natural justice were followed when the LG took this decision,” according to the statement.

The Lieutenant Governor stated that the appointments did not adhere to the Department of Personnel and Training’s (DoPT) required reservation policy for SC/ST/OBC candidates.

The Services Department discovered that several of the hired private individuals did not even meet the educational and work experience requirements mentioned in the job advertisements.

The administrative offices in question also failed to verify the authenticity of work experience certificates provided by these private individuals, which were discovered to be fudged and twisted in many cases, according to the Lt Governor’s office.
