‘Kisi ka …” becomes Salman Khan’s Second Lowest Grossing Movie on Eid

Mumbai (India), 22nd April 2023: In Kisi Ka Bhai Salman Khan’s lead performance in Kisi Ki Jaan brought in over 15 crore at the domestic box office on its first day of release. However, comparing the movie’s performance to Salman’s Eid releases from 2010 to 2019, it has performed in an underwhelming way. It looks like the much anticipated movie wasn’t able to woo ‘Bhai’s’ fans.

The film, which was directed by Farhad Samji, came out on Friday. Salman’s first major motion picture release in a leading role in four years. A Salman Khan Film (SKF) production, it also stars Venkatesh, Pooja Hegde, Jagapathi Babu, and Bhumika Chawla. Along with them, it features Vinali Bhatnagar, Jassie Gill, Shehnaaz Gill, Raghav Juyal, Vijender Singh, and Siddharth Nigam.

A Trend Analyst Taran Adarsh wrote on Twitter, “#KisiKaBhaiKisiKiJaan is underwhelming on Day 1… More so when one compares it with #SalmanKhan’s #Eid releases from 2010 to 2019… Metros weak, mass pockets better, but not great… Extremely important for biz to jump multi-fold today [#Eid]… Fri ₹ 15.81 cr. #India biz. #KBKJ.”

In another Tweet Adarsh shared a list of Salman Khan starrer movies amd their performance on the box office on the premiere day. Through this list it was clear that since Dabangg in 2010 which brought in ₹14 cr on box office day 1, KKBKJ is the only movie that brought in less than ₹20 cr on it’s opening day.

However performance of the movie on the first day of box office doesn’t indicate anything as KKBKJ has been garnering some great reviews from the fans and might touch the ₹500 cr marker according to some critics.

In addition to Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, Tiger 3 is another forthcoming action thriller in which Salman will appear. Later this year, he will appear in the movie alongside Katrina Kaif.
