KYS criticizes union govt’s decision to increase the income bar for OBC creamy layer

Krantikari Yuva Sangathan (KYS) criticized the recent Union Government move to increase the income bar for the creamy-layer section of Other Backward Classes (OBC) category. 

The bar which was earlier set at a high 6 lakh per annum mark has been further raised to 8 lakh per annum. Such a step would further increase the deprivation of the deserving sections within the OBC category, stated KYS on Thursday. 

The step comes in conjunction with the simultaneous decision of setting up of a commission to decide sub-categorization within the OBC category, purportedly to equalize chances for all sections within it. The step would only increase the chances of economically privileged sections within the marginalized sub-categories in OBC, KYS added.
