Labourer strangles son to death

Thane, Sep 1 (PTI) A labourer allegedly strangulated his two-year-old son to death after an altercation with his ex-wife in powerloom town of Bhiwandi here, police said today.

The incident took place last night when the accused, Hashim Shabbir Sindhu (28), who had divorced his wife Parvin over money matters, but went to her house urging her to return, API of Shanti Nagar police station, Venkatesh Alewar said.

When Parvin (25) refused to heed to his demands, he quarelled with her and suddenly pulled their son Amin and throttled him to death, the official said.

The accused had been harassing Parvin for long and used to force her to bring money from her parents’ house frequently following which she decided to separate from him.

The body has been sent for postmortem, police said.

A case under section 302 (murder) of IPC has been registered against the accused, who was arrested in the wee hours today.
