LAC FIRST 2026 Conference Highlights Growing Trade Opportunities Between India & Latin America

New Delhi News (25/06/2026): The LAC FIRST – India–Latin America & Caribbean Business & Diplomatic Conference brought together leading diplomats, policymakers, exporters, and industry representatives to strengthen economic ties and explore new avenues for collaboration between India and the Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) region.

Held at the FIEO Auditorium in Niryat Bhawan, New Delhi, the conference served as a significant platform for fostering dialogue on trade, investment, and strategic partnerships. Ambassadors, High Commissioners, senior government officials, business leaders, and trade experts from India and several LAC nations participated in the event, underscoring the growing importance of bilateral and multilateral economic engagement.

The conference featured a series of country presentations, sector-specific discussions, and business-to-business (B2B) networking sessions aimed at identifying emerging opportunities across diverse industries. Key sectors discussed included textiles and apparel, food processing, pharmaceuticals, engineering products, renewable energy, infrastructure development, and digital technologies.

Participants emphasized the need for stronger institutional cooperation, improved market access, and enhanced business connectivity to unlock the full potential of India-LAC trade relations. The deliberations focused on creating a more conducive environment for cross-border investments and expanding commercial partnerships between enterprises from both regions.

Speaking on the significance of the conference, Rajeev Bansal, Convenor of the EXIM Policy & Trade Promotion Committee (Northern Region), Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO), noted that such initiatives are instrumental in helping Indian exporters, particularly MSMEs, identify new international markets and diversify their export destinations.

He highlighted that the Latin American and Caribbean region presents substantial opportunities for Indian businesses seeking global expansion. Strengthening economic engagement with these markets can contribute significantly to export growth while deepening bilateral cooperation in trade and investment.

The conference concluded with a shared commitment among stakeholders to enhance economic partnerships, promote sustainable trade growth, and build long-term strategic relationships between India and the LAC region.

Organizers, including India Empire, FIEO, participating diplomatic missions, and partner organizations, were commended for successfully hosting the conference and creating a platform that encourages meaningful dialogue and business collaboration across continents.
