“It is the need of the hour to keep yourself updated with the changing
times”, said Dr. Rekha Chaturvedi Chairperson Delhi University Cluster
Innovation Center. Dr. Rekha was addressing a seminar to spread awareness
on the Intellectual property rights. The seminar was organized by Faridabad
chapter of Laghu Udyog Bharti in association with PHD chamber of commerce
at SRS Tower in Faridabad. President, Laghu Udyog Bharti Faridabad informed
that the seminar was organized with the help of Ministry of MSME.

Discussing about the intellectual property and cases of infringement of the
same, Dr. Rekha Chaturvedi said that the cases of infringement occur only
because people are not aware of their rights and do not protect their
intellectual property being used or misused by the others. Dr. Rekha said
that the MSMEs are not that much aware of the process of patenting and also
don’t realize its importance. Many a times larger companies use the
innovation done by some MSME to their advantage. She said that time has
come that every organisation having any innovative thought should get it
patented in its name.  She also educated the members of Laghu Udyog Bharti
about the process of getting a patent.

The seminar was presided over by the National General Secretary Laghu Udyog
Bharti Ms. Anju Bajaj while the program was carried over by the General
Secretary Faridabad chapter Mr. Ravi Bhushan Khatri. President Faridabad
unit Mr. Arun Bajaj also shared his views on the topic. He said that it is
the subject on which most of the people are not much aware off. He said
that most of the people are scared of the process of patenting. He said
that after the guidance of Dr. Rekha Chaturvedi, the members must be very
enlightened about the process and the utility of getting their intellectual
property patented to avoid any infringement or fraud.

Some of the members who were present in the seminar are Gautam Chaudhary,
Pawan Gupta, P.J.S. Sarna and J.P. Malhotra to name a few.
