All so called speculative controversies comes to an end and deserves no heed by the informed citizenry of this great Country.”
“It is well Known that Judge Chandrachud is one of the conscientious, competent ,patient and Just Judge of the Supreme Court. It is hoped during his tenure as CJI the majesty of Constitutionalism takes strong roots and the jurisprudence of human rights and humanitarian laws is strictly enforced,” he said.

His father Y V Chandrachud was also Chief Justice of India . We have high expectations from him in the interest of Bar , bench and every citizen believes that democratic institutions will be stronger after he occupies the highest office of judiciary,” Rai said.

The though was echoed by one and all from the legal fraternity. “Justice Chandrachud is currently one of the finest judges of our country, his understanding of law, his view points and his well versed judgements are beyond explanation. His elevation as CJI will strengthen people’s confidence in our judicial system,” said Preeti Sirohi, Advocate, Supreme Court of India.
Rajeev M. Roy, Advocate-on record, Supreme Court also pointed how Justice Chandrachud is one of the most erudite, fair and hard-working Judges who have adorned the Supreme Court of India. “Public interest has always been of utmost importance for him. He hears everyone with patience regardless of the stature of the lawyer arguing before him. He has a fair but bold approach with a gentleman like demeanor. The kind of judgments that he has authored so far show the depth of his knowledge on a wide variety of laws. His judgments are written in a distinct style and are structured very well. His tenure would be good for the institution in all respects,” Roy added.
Parthasakha Datta, Senior Advocate termed it a healthy trend that a Seniormost Judge after the CJI of the Supreme Court is being proposed for elevation as CJI.
Talking of the ongoing controversy, he said, “Two bad precedents of the yesteryears happily have been given good bye by the successive Governments long back.A complaint by an obscure individual sent to the Govt. just on the eve of elevation is in a bad taste, truthness or otherwise of the complaint being a different matter about which I possess no knowledge. If the complainant was really concerned with his alleged grievance, a concerned citizen would be well advised to ask him why he choose this time to ventilate his cause, if any,” Datta concluded.
