Lok Sabha passes Land Acquisition Bill with nine amendments

Lok Sabha on Tuesday passed the controversial Land Acquisition Bill after the completion of a heated debate in the house despite facing stiff resistance from opposition and also its key allies.

The government carried out nine amendments to land bill and persuaded most of its allies to support, setting the stage for its consideration in Rajya Sabha where the numbers are loaded against the government.
