New Delhi, August 6, 2023: In a heartwarming tale of love that knows no borders, a Pakistani woman, Ameena, and her Indian fiancé, Arbaaz Khan from Jodhpur, defied visa obstacles to tie the knot virtually.

The news comes in the backdrop of increasing attention on cross-border relationships, ignited by the recent case of Seema Haider, a Pakistani woman who crossed into India with her four children to marry a man from Noida, whom she met through a mobile game.

The latest instance involves Karachi resident Ameena, who chose a virtual ‘nikah’ with Arbaaz after facing challenges in obtaining an Indian visa for their marriage. Arbaaz expressed his decision, saying, “Ameena will apply for the visa. I didn’t marry in Pakistan as it would not be recognized, and we would have to remarry on reaching India.”

On the auspicious day, Arbaaz, a chartered accountant, accompanied by friends and family, arrived at Jodhpur’s Oswal Samaj Bhawan for the virtual wedding. The couple’s joyous day was not just limited to the ‘nikah,’ as they also reveled in various marriage rituals, ensuring every moment was celebrated to the fullest.

The ceremony was made official by the esteemed Jodhpur qazi, who conveyed his heartfelt blessings to the newlyweds. Reflecting on their relationship, Arbaaz shared that this was an arranged marriage initiated by their relatives in Pakistan. Given the current complexities in India-Pakistan relations, the couple opted for a virtual ‘nikah’ to ensure a smooth and recognized union.

The heartwarming union of Ameena and Arbaaz echoes the power of love to conquer all obstacles, irrespective of geographical boundaries. Their story showcases the resilience of cross-border relationships amidst prevailing challenges and geopolitical tensions.
