The job of traffic cops is extremely tough, and challenging as they need to be on their toes incessantly for a very long duration. In the line of their duty, many of them even put their lives to great peril since they get directly exposed to the unprecedented high levels of pollution. To get into the groove of my character and thus do justice to the role of a traffic cop, I stationed myself at a busy traffic juncture or 15 days to make minutest to the most critical and major observations about traffic. The entire exercise, and the time invested was truly rewarding as it enriched me with deep insights into the profession of a traffic cop. Viewers would love to watch the comedy twists in this love saga played by Kapil Dev (name of my character in the show) and Lovina DeMello (played by actress Umang Jain) who plays the role of a physiotherapist from Goa. When the script was discussed with me, I gave my immediate consent as I perceived it to be a “winner script” right from the word go. What makes the new show all the more interesting is the fact that it connects with the lives and situation of every viewer. The audience would feel a strong connect with the story idea as well as with the characters portrayed in the show. I am confident that the audience would give a big thumbs-up to “Khatmal-E-a Ishque”.
Sharing details about his role in the new show, the seasoned Sharat Saxena who has acted in more than 250 Bollywood films, seemed euphoric about his role, and expressed optimism that his role as the tough father of lead character “Kapil Dev” would be appreciated by one and all, primarily as his role would add the much needed comedy component to the show.
