Mumbai, August 21, 2022: Deputy CM of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday announced that the Dharavi redevelopment project will take off in three months.

Addressing a gathering of BJP party workers at Shanmukhanand Hall in Matunga, Fadnavis who is also the housing minister in the state, said that all hurdles in the Dharavi redevelopment project will be cleared in the next three months.
He also asserted that all housing and redevelopment projects in the city will begin soon.

“Slum dwellers will get ownership flats. Those buildings where redevelopment is stalled and rents have stopped, we will compel the builder to pay rent and revive the redevelopment,” said Fadnavis.

Launching an attack on Shiv Sena, the BJP leader also said that Shiv Sena is to blame for the Marathi ‘Manoos'(community) leaving their homes in Mumbai and shifting to Mira Road and beyond.

He further added when buildings had to be demolished for Metro Line 3 during his tenure, immediate care and actions were taken so that the residents don’t lose their homes and also referred to when Shiv Sena allegedly did not solve the BDD Chawal redevelopment issue in 25 years but it was solved when Fadnavis became the CM of the state.

Fadnavis referred to the union of Shiv Sena and BJP and said that the Shiv Sena led by Eknath Shinde is the real side of the party and that they have joined forces for the state’s development and future.
