Mahendra out, AAP plays dalit card with Rakhi Birla

Aam Aadmi Party on Tuesday dropped its candidate for north-west Delhi, Mahendra Singh, placing its bets instead on former Delhi minister Rakhi Birla. Political exigency appeared to be the reason for this volte-face with sources saying Birla, dalit face of the party, would prove to be a stronger candidate against BJP’s Udit Raj and Congress’s Krishna Tirath.
