Mahendra Prasad, seven term Rajya Sabha MP dies at 81 of prolonged illness

December 27, New Delhi: Mahendra Prasad from the Janta Dal (United) party, who was a seven-term Rajya Sabha MP from Bihar & was also elected to the lok sabha once passed away on Sunday night in Delhi of prolonged illness.

Mahendra Prasad died at a private hospital in Delhi at the age of 81

Prasad was the owner of two pharmaceutical companies, Aristo Pharmaceuticals and Mapra Laboratories Pvt Ltd.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed condolences at the death of Mahendra Prasad, founder of Aristo Pharmaceuticals, and said his demise is a big loss to the society and politics besides industry.

In 1980, Mahendra Prasad was elected to the Lok Sabha on a Congress ticket for the first time. He remained faithful to the party for a long time before shifting his allegiances when the party’s chances in the state deteriorated.
