Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Crosses 4 Lakh Electric Vehicle Sales

National News (22 August 2026): Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited (MLMML), a subsidiary of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., has achieved a significant milestone by crossing 4 lakh cumulative electric vehicle (EV) sales, becoming the first commercial electric vehicle manufacturer in India to reach the mark.

The company said it has maintained its position as India’s No. 1 electric commercial vehicle manufacturer for four consecutive financial years, reflecting the growing adoption of electric mobility in the country’s passenger and cargo last-mile transportation segments.

Mahindra’s electric commercial vehicles have collectively travelled more than 9 billion electric kilometres, helping prevent approximately 1.85 lakh metric tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions. According to the company, the environmental benefit is equivalent to planting more than 8.3 million trees.

The 4 lakh-vehicle milestone represents the growing number of drivers, entrepreneurs, shopkeepers, delivery partners and small-business owners who depend on electric three-wheelers and small commercial vehicles for their daily livelihoods. MLMML said its approach has been centred on making electric mobility financially viable and commercially beneficial for customers, rather than positioning EV adoption solely as an environmental choice.

According to the company, its electric portfolio—including the UDO, Treo range, Zor Grand, ZEO and e-Alfa—has played a key role in expanding electric mobility across India’s last-mile ecosystem. These vehicles cater to both passenger transportation and cargo applications.

The company attributed its growth to continued investments in customer-focused products, financing solutions, strategic partnerships and after-sales and customer-support initiatives. By focusing on operating economics and business outcomes, Mahindra aims to make electric vehicles a practical proposition for customers whose earnings depend on their vehicles.

Suman Mishra, Managing Director and CEO of Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited, said the 4 lakh milestone represents more than a sales figure, as it reflects the livelihoods supported by the company’s electric vehicles.

“4 Lakh is not just a number for us — it is 4 Lakh livelihoods we helped power every single day,” Mishra said. She added that the achievement belongs to the drivers and entrepreneurs who adopted electric mobility, as well as the partners and employees who helped make EVs a practical option for India’s last-mile economy.

Mishra further said the company would continue to focus on developing better products, strengthening the electric mobility ecosystem and improving accessibility for last-mile customers.

With electric adoption expanding across commercial transportation, MLMML has set an ambitious target of putting one million electric vehicles on Indian roads by 2031. The company expects continued investments in products, financing, infrastructure, partnerships and customer support to help accelerate this transition.

Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited is the electric commercial vehicle arm of Mahindra & Mahindra and operates in India’s last-mile mobility market. Its product portfolio includes the Treo range, UDO, Zor Grand, e-Alfa and ZEO, covering passenger and cargo applications across the country.

The company said the latest milestone underscores the increasing role of electric commercial vehicles in India’s last-mile economy, where lower operating costs and improved business economics are becoming important drivers of EV adoption.
