New Delhi(India), 14/08/23: MakeMyTrip announced a partnership with the Ministry of Tourism to promote 600-plus unique places on Sunday. The online travel company has unveiled the ‘Traveller’s Map of India’ webpage.

Based on their choices, the site provides an interactive platform for visitors to uncover lesser-known tourism jewels within the country’s borders. “This thoughtfully curated microsite has been designed in line with the Government of India’s visionary ‘DekhoApnaDesh’ programme,” MakeMyTrip stated in a statement.

According to the company, it examined India’s travel search history to create the tailored shortlist. With millions of people utilising the platform each month, MMT believes that destination searches on the platform can be seen as the nation’s ballot for must-see destinations in the country.

Based on this concept, the company chose sites that are less well-known or are only known to individuals in specific parts of the country. To assist passengers in narrowing down their choices, the selections have been further classified with tags such as adventure, wildlife, heritage, mountains, beaches, and so on.

Rajesh Magow, Co-Founder and Group CEO of MakeMyTrip, “The Traveller’s Map of India reflects the voice of almost every Indian traveller which makes it aptly commemorative of August 15th…We have always championed for the diversity of India’s tourism offerings, and wanted to push the envelope of discovery further. What better way to do this than to empower every Indian to be a spokesperson for the country’s cultural, historic, natural and geographical marvels.”

Magow expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Tourism for its support of MakeMyTrip. “It reaffirms our faith in our mission to exteriorise India as the world’s most sought-after tourism destination.”

Kishan Reddy, Union Minister of Tourism, praised MakeMyTrip’s initiative to showcase India’s different attractions and boost domestic tourism. “We invite more such initiatives to realise our collective dream of showcasing our country to the world,” he said.
