Making India Sustainable and Aatmanirbhar with Wind Energy: Windergy India 2022

New Delhi, 21st April 2022: The Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association (IWTMA) on Thursday organised a press conference on the upcoming event “Windergy India 2022” at the “4th International Trade Fair and Conference” that is to be held on 27-29th April at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

The press conference was held in the presence of Tulsi Tanti, Chairman, IWTMA, Balram Mehta, President, IWTMA, Srinivas Krishnaswamy, CEO, Vasudha Foundation and D.V. Giri, Secretary General, IWTMA.

“India is playing good by exporting wind turbines to other countries. The country has become more sustainable and self-reliant,” said Tulsi Tanti, Chairman, IWTMA.

India is 4th, across the globe, in wind energy production with an installed capacity of 40 GW spread over seven windy states. The panel discussed how wind energy plays an important role in energy transition from fossil fuels to renewable sources aided with mature technology, contributing significantly to making India self-reliant.

They also requested the people and the government to support the initiative and contribute towards promoting the wind energy. “Wind is a possible and strong answer towards achieving a sustainable nation,” said D. V. Giri, Secretary General, IWTMA.
