Mumbai, Sept 20th, 2022: A 24-year-old man, Dinesh Sutar was arrested for allegedly making a hoax bomb threat in the bustling area of Zaveri Bazaar to the Mumbai Police on Monday.

The accused, Sutar had earlier made a call to Mumbai Police’s Control Room on Sunday about a bomb planted in Jamkhed of the Ahmednagar district.
After that, he called on Monday, about a bomb placed in Mumbai’s Zaveri Bazaar area following which the police swung into action and reached the location.

Sutar made the fake calls as he was in a relationship with a woman from Ahmednagar and he wanted to take revenge after they broke up. “He got drunk on Sunday and made the call to the cops. After that he once again called on Monday”, said an investigator.

The police then informed other agencies and the Anti-Terrorism Squad, dog squad, Crime Branch and several other departments from Mumbai Police went to the spot and inspected the area. After not finding any bomb, they realized it was a hoax call.

“The accused had used his own mobile phone to call the police, we located him at Bhuleshwar in south Mumbai itself and arrested him within two hours on Sunday,” said an officer.

Further investigation is underway.
