Massive fire breaks out at Lajpat Rai market; several shops gutted

New Delhi, January 6: A massive Fire broke out at Delhi’s Lajpat Rai market in Chandni chowk at 4:45 AM early on Thursday morning.

Luckily, No casualties has been reported in the fire incident. However, as per reports 60 shops/stalls are said to have been gutted.

Atul Garg DFS chief said, ”We received a call at around 4.45 am about the fire. The team rushed to the spot and 12 fire tenders were deployed. The fire spread to a few other shops which were gutted.”

Delhi Fire services (DFS) added, no causality has been reported in the Lajpat Rai Market fire incident.

The firefighters had to put out the fire for three hours. According to Indian Express, a preliminary investigation found that 80 cardboard boxes caught fire after a short circuit.
