Central government has launched an initiative called DigiLocker.
Anyone having an Aadhar card can login to www.digitallocker.gov.in and upload scanned copies of all the important documents like birth certificate, 10th marksheet, 12th marksheet, Graduation certificate, electricity bill, telephone bill, PAN, Driving License, Passport, company registration documents, income tax returns, p&l, balance sheet, pollution approval certificates, shop establishment certificates, excuse registration, sales tax registration, service tax registration, TIN number & any document.

So whenever, you will need those documents (for verification by govt agencies or others while applying for any approvals or service etc), you can directly give your locker number and it is done! No more hassles of carrying those documents and tons of photocopies.
