New Delhi: BJP kicks off poll campaign in Delhi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi kickstarted the Bharatiya Janata Party’s campaign for assembly elections in the national capital on Saturday as it traded allegations with the rival Aam Aadmi Party. Implying that the AAP’s leader Arvind Kejriwal was an anarchist, Modi asked him to join “the Naxals in the jungles”. He reiterated the BJP’s poll promises, especially of uninterrupted power supply and housing for all. In his 35-minute speech, he also attacked the Congress. Kejriwal responded to Modi’s remarks, targeting him for making unfulfillable poll promises and for failing to assure the safety of women in Delhi.
