Mother held for murder in Faridabad

Kiran Kohli, barely 23, was killed allegedly by her mother who seemed to be upset with her lifestyle. Police said the mother, now in jail, first tried to lace Kiran’s food with sedatives in November. When that failed, she allegedly made an attempt to smother her with a pillow in her sleep. Undeterred by the two abortive bids, she conspired with her adopted brother, Kulwinder (48), in Jalandhar to murder the girl by slitting her throat while she was asleep, added cops. The murder was reported on December 28.
