In order to meet growing demand for data services at affordable prices, MTNL has launched today “My WiFi Services”. MTNL has set up WiFi Hotspots at Green Park Market, Hauz Khas Village and Aurobindo Market. This hotspot system has been opened for public use today and people present in these areas can access high-speed internet on their mobiles/laptops/portable devices.
In “My WiFi” hotspot zones, everybody shall be able to have totally free internet service for 30 minutes per day. For usage beyond 30 minutes in a day a person will be required to pay nominal charges through physical vouchers/Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking.
Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) (New Delhi Constituency), Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi, inaugurated “My WiFi Services” by accessing the high-speed internet on her mobile phone. On this occasion, she said that “ My WiFi Services” of MTNL will be very useful for Delhites, as the service is fast and more affordable than mobile data service. She added that MTNL’s “My WiFi Service” is a step forward to fulfill the vision of ‘Digital India’.
Shri P.K. Purwar, CMD, MTNL said that MTNL has always been a pioneer in introducing new telecom technologies to its valuable customers at most competitive pocket friendly prices. He said that MTNL is in process of setting up of similar hotspots at other high foot-falls locations in Delhi, viz. Qutab Minar, India Gate, Red Fort, Purana Qila etc. The customer will be able to use his MTNL WiFi Access authentication in any of the “My WiFi” hotspots in entire Delhi. He informed that usage of WiFi hotspots shall also help the mobile networks to a large extent by releasing the data download pressure.
