#Muzaffarnagar: Cleric demands extra security, says slain #NIA officer wanted him killed

A prominent cleric in Muzaffarnagar has urged the administration to enhance his security cover claiming that slain NIA Deputy Superintendent Tanzeel Ahmed had given a contract to a gangster to kill him. The cleric, Maulana Nazeer Ahmed Qasmi, however feigned ignorance about the exact motive behind the conspiracy to murder him.

Qasmi (75) currently enjoys ‘X’ Category security provided to him by the Uttar Pradesh government.

“I have requested SSP, Muzaffarnagar, to enhance my security because I have to go to different places to attend religious discourse. I came to know about the threat through media, which stated that Tanzeel wanted to get me killed. So far, no government official has informed me in this regard,” said Qasmi.
