The capital city was recently witness to a spectacular display of artistic expressions by talented young artists, and it included few neurodiverse artists and some non-verbal high support trainees who exhibited their unique artworks of varied moods and festive creations at Gallery ArtSastra, Safdarjung Enclave, New Delhi.

The force behind empowering and motivating the neurodiverse artists was 18-year-old Tarini Malhotra who, at the age of 14, set up “Nai Subah Foundation,” an initiative of like-minded sensitive and passionate youths who are pledged to transforming the lives of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Down Syndrome, ADHD, and other intellectual or learning difficulties, thus banishing the darkness and eventually ushering in a new morning- A “Nai Subah”.

Feeling buoyed by the overwhelming response to her exhibition, Tarini Malhotra shared, “The Advaita Art Showcase comes across as a stunning revelation for one and all as it enables Art lovers to explore the brilliant artworks of some neurodiverse artists as they unveil their masterpieces. Each painting reflects the distinctive genius and unique perspective of its creator. With the Medium of Art playing a pivotal role in helping these brilliant artists develop their fine motor and problem-solving skills, it has helped foster their communication power, self-expression and self-esteem. Art offers them a judgement-free space for expression and streamlined introductions to strokes, colours and mediums subsequently providing a safe environment with well-defined targets. Renowned Icons like Piet Mondrian, Kandinsky and Alma have been the source of inspiration for these young artists. Our key idea behind this exhibition was to bring to fore all the unsung heroes of our society who possess humongous talent. The objective of Nai Subah Foundation is purely holistic as it is committed to creating opportunities for the marginalized by helping them unlock their true potential. With time advent, there has been a marked increase in the number of people buying Artworks as they deem it a worthwhile investment. It’s a matter of pride to have been associated with the prestigious ArtSastra Gallery for the last two years now. The fact that they have incessantly supported all such philanthropic causes since their initial stages separates them from the rest. The response to our Exhibition has made us euphoric, and it inspires us to keep going, and on a much bigger scale in times to come.”

The Director and Designer of the Gallery ArtSastra, Vipul Saini, who wears many hats in the fields of arts, curated the show with a purpose to bring out the unique human expression and views of the world through works of these specially talented individuals as also to introduce them to market dynamics, something which ArtSastra Gallery has deemed as its “Mission”.

It was a sight to behold the various Ganesha paintings by the artists, besides many other splendid creations by Artists in the age bracket of 11- 40. The exhibition showcased the remarkable works of young artists from all nooks and corners of the country.

Adversity causes some to break, others to break records. Implying in simpler words, that it all depends upon an individual’s own will and efforts to overcome the inevitable challenges and shortcomings.

And the mesmerizing exhibition of masterpieces by these brilliant artists, some of them being neuro-diverse happens to be the perfect instance of the same.

Kudos to their incredible zeal!!
