New Delhi 15/11/2019 : Today, 7th HRM summit on ‘Organizational Excellence: Talent, Technology, Happiness And Well-Being’ was organized in Gurugram.

The Summit was organized by National HRD Network (NHRDN) which is an association of professionals committed to promoting the HRD movement in the country and enhancing the capability of HR professionals.

The agenda of the summit was to augment knowledge and skills relevant to HRD, its philosophy, processes and implementation, through explorations and experimentation.

The event witnessed participation by plethora of thought leaders who are driving the developments in the HR industry in India.

The summit which was held at Leela Ambience in Gurugram was started with a warm welcome address by Dhananjay Singh, DG at NHRDN who appreciated the presence of gathering despite the ongoing Odd-Even scheme in Delhi. Mr. Singh said “The next two days will be a rich learning experience and the way sessions are planned it is going be very interactive.

“We need to keep our self future ready in terms of shaping and reshaping as per the new age HR requirements.” Mr. Singh added.

Next up in the inaugural session was Prem Singh who is the President of NHRDN Delhi-NCR chapter and also the Summit Director. Prem Singh talked about happiness and wellbeing in his address and said “at the end of the day, the thing which matters the most is the sense of accomplishment.”

The NHRDN President (Delhi-NCR Chapter) later on interacted with Ten News in which he talked about the challenges of “Industry 4.0”.

The Address by Prem Singh was followed by a Keynote address by Dr.Krish Shankar, Executive VP at Infosys & President at NHRDN. In his address, Dr. Shankar talked about the future trends in HR function and jobs, like he talked about how Skill capital or the Skillset a person holds will matter way more than the degree he/she holds. Mr. Shankar also shared 8 points action plan for for HR professionals.

The chief guest for the day was Dr. Habil Khorakiwala, Founder Chairman at WOCKHARDT Group and Past President at FICCI. In his inaugural address, Dr. Khorakiwala comprehensively talked about building organizational leadership.

Dr. Khorakiwala also interacted with Ten News after his address and shared his views on the hot topic for the day “Industry 4.0.”

After a short tea break, the gathering quickly moved back to the Summit hall to listen what the eminent panelist had to say on “Industry 4.0 and new age HR”

The panelists talked about how AI is changing the way me manage the “human resources”.

One panelist, Hardeep Singh, said, “We can replicate top talents by creating their AI personas. Tony Robbins, a world-renowned motivational speaker is one who is currently working on developing his own AI personas.”

In an another example of AI bringing change in HR, he said “Genpact analyzes job emails to learn the co-relation between writing an email and performance. The analysis of job emails is based on several factor like the quality of subject line which enables a company to learn how that employee will perform”

The panel discussion was followed up by a question-answer round which was then followed up the lunch.

The first Panel discussion after the lunch again oversaw an interesting and interactive discussion on “Spotting, nurturing, engaging & managing talent in Gig economy.”

Gig economy which includes temporary, flexible jobs and is being preferred over the traditional 9-5 jobs was thoroughly deliberated and attracted a variety of ideas and insights from the panelists.

One panelist, Gaurav Kapur, Head of policy at ACCA, said “I actually met a couple of young students from a B school who were not aspiring for a nine to five kind of a job where they have to go to office and prepare a file for their boss.”

“The students want the job to be interesting. They want to meet different clients and they want to be exposed to a lot of different aspects” Mr. Kapoor further added.

The challenges of Gig economy especially the high churn rate was a point of concern for the panelist. While addressing this concern, Lopamudita Banerjee, HR Head at Carrier MIDEA said “The gig workers must be made familiar with company’s mission, vision, culture etc to encourage their involvement and reduce attrition rate”

This panel discussion was also followed up by an interactive question answer round.

The last panel discussion “Changing paradigms of competencies & culture” & “Ways & means of providing meaning at work” was moderated by Dr. G.P Rao with much exuberance which made the evening even more impactful for HR Professionals and students present on the occasion.
