Nationwide Protest by Women & Queer Community against NPR, NRC, CAA!

New Delhi(03/01/2020): On 189th birth anniversary of Savitribai Phule, a 19th-century social reformer, on January 3, the nationwide protests have been carried out by women and queer communities to demand scrapping of National Population Register (NPR), National Register of Citizens (NRC) and Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), and Trans Act 2019.
The protests have taken place in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Ranchi, Bangalore, Ahmedabad and many other cities.
In the National Capital, women and members from the queer community took out a protest march from Mandi House to Jantar Mantar against the amended Citizenship Act.
As they voiced their dissent against the law, slogans of ‘HALLA BOL’ and ‘AZAADI’ rend the air.
