New Delhi, 9 May 2022: The Central Sanskrit University organised the Utkarsh Mahotsav from 7 May to 9 May in New Delhi, with emphasis on the Global Orientation of Sanskrit Studies in the New Educational Era.

The 3rd day of the event on Monday was graced by the presence of Dharmendra Pradhan, Education Minister, M. Jagadesh Kumar, Chairman, UGC, Chamu Krishna Shastry, Founder of Samskrita Bharati, Prof. Srinivasa Varakhedi, Central Sanskrit University, New Delhi, Prof. Murli Manohar Pathak, Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University, New Delhi, Prof. Radhakant Thakur, National Sanskrit University, Tirupati among other eminent personalities.

On the third-day of the event, the Sanskrit scholars claimed that the inventions the west boasts about were explored by the Indian scholars hundreds of years ago, including test tube babies, law of gravity, speed of light, theory of atoms and so on.

In his address, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that the primary aim of the National Education Policy is to give importance to the Indian education and languages. “This has gained more importance with all of your support today. We have to face the challenge of making it the people’s language and take forward Sanskrit as the lok bhasha.”

Jagadesh Kumar, Chairman, UGC, in his address said, “We as Indians should be proud that we have such a great language. Information has passed down generations in Sanskrit. Without Sanskrit, we would not have the culture and information from our ancestors. This is the reason why many civilizations have collapsed because they have no way to transfer information from one generation to the other.”
