The results of NEET PG 2017 are just around the corner for the admissions to the private and government, deemed medical colleges. The NEET PG 2017 was conducted from December 5 to December 13, 2017. As per the official notification on NEET PG official website, the results of NEET PG will be declared by January 15. This year the centre has instructed all the medical colleges to ensure that the admissions are done on the basis of joint counselling. The decision to conduct the common medical entrance exam was taken to curb the malpractices and for the welfare of the students.
Majority of the states extended their support for the joint counselling of NEET 2017 exam, however their are certain exceptions. According to a report in Hindustan times, Punjab, has not been supportive of the centre’s decision and is silent on the matter. The parents and academicians have asked the state to cooperate with the centre’s decision so that their is no inconvenience to the students despite the major demand of parents and academicians to rein in its private institutes to avoid harassment during allotment of seats. Punjab had earlier allowed the Deemed medical institutes to conduct their separate admission counseling for MBBS/BDS admissions
It is expected that from now, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will organize counseling process for all NEET PG aspirants. As per the selection procedure of NEET PG exam, the candidates will be allocated an indicative seat. Once the allotment is done, the applicants will need to lock their choices. The online counseling will be conducted on the basis of AIPGMEE/AIPGDEE Result declared by the NBE/AIIMS, New Delhi. It is important for the aspirants seeks allotment to NEET PG programme to know that the main counseling registration, exercising of choices, indicative seat allotment process and locking of choices will be done. The counseling will end with the seat allotment rounds. Aspirants are also required to note that during the mock counseling, choices submitted by the candidates will be processed once during the counseling period.
