#ITBP’s ‘Sea Route to Silk Route Car expedition’ to commemorate 54th Anniversary Day of the Force

 

New Delhi. To Commemorate the Raising Day and to spread the message of Yak conservation (Which is an endangered species in the Indian Himalayas), border guarding paramilitary force Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) has planned to undertake a motor car expedition ‘Sea Route to Silk Route’- a first of its kind on such a high altitude.

A total 15 members in 5 vehicles will travel 15 days (Kandivilli to Karakoram) covering various cities namely- Mumbai, Nagpur, Jhansi, Delhi, Chandigarh, kullu, Manali, Rohtang, Kellong & Leh while reaching to Karakoram Pass and back via same route in their about 4000 Kms journey. The climax of the journey would be the high altitude voyage on roads on altitudes of more than 17,000 fts at places in Ladakh region. NGO Himalayan Explorers and Mahindra Adventure will also be part of the Expedition.

Beginning at Mumbai on 24th October, 2015, the Expedition will be flagged off formerly by the Chief Guest of the ITBP Raising Day function on 28th October, 2015 in Greater Noida.

During the Expedition, the team will spread awareness about Yak conservation. A seminar on the issue will also be organized by ITBP in Leh on 31st October, 2015. During return journey, the team will meet Sh. Krishna Chaudhary, DG ITBP to share their experience.
