Institute of Economic Studies (IES) confers Excellence Award upon PR Professionals

New Delhi: Amid much zeal and jollity, the Institute of Economic Studies (IES) had conferred the prestigious ‘Excellence Award’ upon PR Professionals at here on Monday. Sarvesh Tiwari, Chairman and Managing Director, PR Professionals, received the award during a Seminar on ‘Financial Reforms and Economic Development’ held at Silver Oak of the India Habitat Centre here. The IES also awarded “Udyog Rattan Award” to Mr. Tiwari, Chairman and Managing Director of the Company, on the occasion. IES had selected few organizations and personalities based on their performance in their sector and contributions to the Economic Development of the Nation.
While inaugurating the seminar, chief guest Mr. Bhishm Narayan Singh, former Tamil Nadu Governor said that right from its inception in 1980, IES had adroitly discussed different problems concerning various aspects of the economy and economic development of our country and had offered their expert advice and services. “It has not only identified problems of various industries at macro level through appropriate case studies and suggested suitable and feasible remedies, rather it has also analysed in-depth the implications of various events as they unfold themselves and assessing their impact on various industries, particularly the small-scale enterprises,” he said.
Earlier, Mr. Yogendra Prasad, the IES President and former NHPC CMD, in his keynote address, laid stress upon the need of renewable energy. Expressing concern over the decreasing plant load factor (PLF) of various coal-based thermal power plants, he said that the government would have to focus on hydro- plants. “It will not only minimize the carbon emission, rather they can cater the increasing power demands of the country,” he said.
Among others, who addressed the seminar were Mr. Rajeev Mehrotra, CMD Rites Limited and Mr. K S Popli, CMD IREDA.
Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Tiwari said, “We believe that every citizen has a responsibility to give back to the society, and we at PR Professionals have steadfastly followed this adage. Accepting the Udyog Rattan award, Mr. Tiwari said that both the awards rightfully belong to management, staff and well wishers of PR Professionals, who have contributed towards making the company a success story.
The Udyog Rattan Award and Award for Excellence is conferred by the Institute of Economic Studies every year. IES was established in 1980 by a group of economists, parliamentarians and industrialists who came together to study and discuss problems concerning various aspects of the economy and economic development of India and offer their expert advice and services.
