MISUSE OF GOVERNMENT MACHINERY AND RESOURCES

The Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Legislative Assembly, Mr. Vijender Gupta today alleged that the Kejriwal Government has obliterated distinction between Government and Aam Admi Party.  It is interchanging each other taking for granted that party and Government are one and the same.  It is misusing Government machinery, staff and money for publicizing the Aam Adami Party.

Mr. Gupta drew attention to a letter (copy attached) written by C.M. Kejriwal on Government letterhead bearing symbol of Lion and address of Delhi Secretariat thanking the public for bringing Aam Adami Party with such a huge majority. It is being forcibly distributed in thousands through the officials of the Delhi Jal Board. There is widespread disgruntlement amongst the Chief Engineers, Supdt. Engineers, Executive Engineers, Junior Engineers and lower staff.  They are complaining that they have been given the target to distribute this letter in unauthorized colonies and areas where development charges are payable on account of water and sewer lines.   The C.M. further says in the letter that since coming to the power, we have been working very hard 24×7 in the service of citizens. Leader of Opposition says that it is against the Government rules to publicize political party from a Government instrument.  No party can use the Government machinery for political use. But the Kejriwal Government has over looked this important decorum and established rule.

Sh. Gupta said that it appears that this letter has been written by head of a political party rather than the Chief Minister.   He asked the Chief Minister to discontinue this practice of interchanging chief minister ship and convener ship of Aam Adami Party.
