New infrastructure projects in Noida to be on fast track
When the UP state wildlife board announced that they would be meeting for a board meeting for the first time in two years, people in the realty and infrastructure sector were the happiest lot. The decision has been welcomed because there have been many Noida projects, both commercial and residential, that have been pending because of lack of an approval. • The 31-member board is expected to be headed by UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav and include four central members. • In the first meeting, issues concerning Noida and Greater Noida are expected to be taken up. • Issue of a bridge on the Yamuna parallel to the Okhla barrage and a proposed multi-level parking-cum-commercial complex at Botanical Garden Metro station would also be looked into. • By law, a state wildlife board nod is mandatory for any project before being cleared by the National Board of Wildlife (NBW), especially so for any project within a 10-km-radius of Okhla bird sanctuary.
