New US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti hosts Dinner for interfaith leaders

New Delhi, 27th April: Ambassador Eric Garcetti, Embassy of the United States of America in Delhi hosted a special Dinner for selected interfaith leaders at his residence in Delhi on 24th April 2023.

Bhikkhu Sanghasena, founder president of Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre – MIMC, Leh, extended hearty welcome to the new Ambassador with small statue of Lord Buddha and wished him a pleasant and successful stay in India. “America being one of the most powerful countries has great role to play in promoting World Peace,” he said.

Bhikkhu asked the new Ambassador to play the role of two ambassadors; one the normal diplomatic relationship between the two largest democratic countries: India and USA and the other one as the “AMBASSADOR of COMPASSION for WORLD PEACE.”

Mahabodhi International Meditation Center enjoys close friendship with USA Embassy in New Delhi. Several earlier USA ambassadors had visited MIMC campus in Leh. The new Ambassador, Eric Garcetti also accepted Bhikkhu Sanghasena’s invitation to visit MIMC campus during this summer.

In a two hour long dinner meeting, the interfaith leaders of different communities had a productive discussion with the US ambassador on various current world affairs and the responsibilities of the faith leaders.

In conclusion, the interfaith leaders appreciated good gesture of new ambassador and offered prayers and blessed him for a great success of all his endeavours.
