The Uttar Pradesh government, in a meeting in Lucknow on Thursday, discussed the implementation of the National Green Tribunal’s order restricting diesel vehicles over 10 years old from plying in Noida and Ghaziabad. Transport minister Durga Prasad Yadav and transport commissioner K Ravinder Naik discussed the issue with the state’s regional transport officers.

Naik said the NGT order clashes with the provisions of the state’s Motor Vehicle Act. “Some sections of UP’s Motor Vehicle Act needs to be amended to implement the NGT order. We have written to the Centre seeking clarification on the amendment and implementation of the order,” he said.
