No salary to 16,500 MCD teachers for past four months, teachers launch protest at Delhi BJP office

Jolted for not getting salary from past four months and for unfulfilled BJP’s MCD election promises, members from Delhi Municipal Corporation Teachers’ Association launched protest outside Delhi State BJP office on Friday.

Thousands of protesters gathered at Delhi BJP office and raised slogans against the BJP government, Delhi BJP Chief Manoj Tiwari and for not fulfilling their election demands.

While talking with Ten News they said that during the MCD election Delhi BJP chiefs Manoj Tiwari had said that they will try to reunite all three MCD, the MCD will pay your salary on time and if there would be fund crunch, BJP will provide you funds from Central Government, however, neither of them fulfilled even after two years.

There are 1741 schools under MCD and 16,500 teachers teach there.

Senior vice-president of the Delhi Municipal Corporation Teacher’s Association, Vibha Singh said, “During the MCD election, Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari had assured to fulfill our demands but even after two years nothing has happened.”
Due to delay in getting salary, around 25 to 30 teachers have died. Some of them committed suicide or some died due to cardiac-arrest. And today we are protesting here to remind them about their promises. So we can get salary on time” she added.
