Noida chief executive officer Alok Tandon on Friday suspended a revenue officer (Lekhpal) Hakam Singh following complaints by a farmer. The farmer has alleged that Lekhpal Hakam Singh has asked for bribe for clearing his files.

Sources claim that action has been taken after it has come to light that revenue officer in question allegedly used to ask for bribe for getting people’s work done.

This would be second such termination after CEO Alok Tandon took to office. In November also he had suspended another Lekhpal named Jitender Kumar Gautam for allegedly demanding a bribe for clearing farmers compensation.

In previous case the action was taken after audio clip of the bribe demand had gone viral on social media.

It must be noted that earlier on Sunday PM Modi had attacked corruption in bureaucracy in strongest term and has said that often files are cleared in India after being asked about ‘Mera Kya’ by concerned officials.
