Noida NGO SSCA organized folk dance competition for schools students – Vasant Mahostava

Noida: Around 200 students from various schools of NCR performed folk dances on the occasion of ‘Noida Basant Mahotsava 2017, held at the Indira Gandhi Kala Kendra Noida.

The programme was organised by Society for Sports and Cultural advancement (SSCA) Noida. It is headed by Mrs Vimlesh Sharma, President and 16 member team.

Having diverse cultures and rich folk traditions within India .Dance troupes from various schools of Noida region participated in the event and enthralled the audience with their unique dance forms. Little dancers left the audience awestruck as they performed dressed up in colourful costumes and adornments.

Mostly school students who participated in the event presented a glorious tribute to the old age traditions of India by showcasing their talents in the festival.

Some students also performed dances on the famous Bollywood numbers where they showcased their talent by capturing the minds of audiences with the famous “Sandese Aate Hain” song from the Border movie which was presented by differently abled student Ahinav where audiences clapped to the tune with his dance moves. His presentation was a medley of dance which filled the environment with patriotism and tears.

The programme concluded with the blessings by famous Shri Ashok Srivastava ji, President Navaratan foundation left the audience in a deep shock by singing an Uttaranchal’s famous lok geet “Humaar uncle motor gaadi chalavoo”.

He announced nine hours non-stop dance program on the eve of Holi 2017 to be held in the Noida where these students would get another chance to showcase their talents.

Vice President SSCA Rajeshwari Tyagrajan said that such programmes are necessary to develop a sense of feeling of patriotism in the minds of young students.

Secretary SSCA Devender Kumar these kinds of folk dance programmes should be organised on National levels by giving the chance to students who are from poor families and schools with mearge resources.

Shri PK Mishra, former Chief Secretary Uttar Pradesh was welcomed by SSCA.

In the award ceremony, small artists from various schools were awarded prizes and trophies.

In the dance competition Category A: Chhattisgarh folk dance presented by Modern School Noida students won the ‘Noida Vasant Mahotsava 2017’ Trophy in a second consecutive year.

2nd position was bagged by Dharam Public School Noida.

3rd position by SSS Girls Inter-College Noida.

In category B: First position was bagged by Abhay Public school Nithari

Sakhsham Public school bagged second position for their performance on the Haryanvi folk dance.

The program came to an end with the Vote of Thanks rendered by the Secretary SSCA Devender Kumar who thanked the chief guests, audience, teachers and students for making the program a grand event. He announced that next year this will be celebrated in a big way.
