NSE Seeks Clarifications From 17 Listed Companies Over Unusual Price and Volume Movements
TEN NEWS NETWORK
National News (05 September 2026): The National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) has sought clarifications from several listed companies after observing significant movements in their share prices or trading volumes. The exchange said the action was taken to ensure that investors have access to the latest relevant information and that market participants are adequately informed.
In a series of press releases issued on September 4, the NSE flagged unusual price or volume activity involving 17 companies, including AYM Syntex, Aki India, Anant Raj, Cyber Media (India), HBL Engineering, Jain Irrigation Systems, Prestige Estates Projects, Puravankara, Skipper and others.
The exchange stated that such communications are part of its efforts to safeguard investor interests and verify information circulating in the market.
Companies Flagged for Significant Price Movements
The NSE sought explanations from AYM Syntex Limited and Aki India Limited after observing a significant increase or decrease in their share prices. The exchange has written to both companies and is currently awaiting their responses.
Similar clarification notices were issued to Cyber Media (India) Limited, ICDS Limited, MODISON Limited, Manali Petrochemicals Limited, Pentagon Rubber Limited, Tamilnadu PetroProducts Limited and Ujaas Energy Limited following notable movements in their share prices.
In the cases of ICDS, MODISON and Ujaas Energy, the exchange said it had written to the respective companies on September 3, 2026. The companies’ clarifications have been made available through the NSE’s corporate filings and announcements section.
NSE Flags Unusual Trading Volumes
The exchange also raised concerns over substantial increases in trading volumes in several stocks.
Companies that received volume-related clarification requests include Anant Raj Limited, HBL Engineering Limited, Jain Irrigation Systems Limited, Jayaswal Neco Industries Limited, Puravankara Limited, Rane (Madras) Limited and Skipper Limited.
For most of these companies, the NSE said responses were still awaited.
In the case of Anant Raj Limited, the exchange had already written to the company on September 3 following the significant increase in trading volume. The company’s clarification is available on the NSE website under the corporate filings and announcements section.
Prestige Estates Asked to Clarify Media Report
The NSE also sought clarification from Prestige Estates Projects Limited following a media report concerning the company’s shares.
The report stated that Prestige Estates’ share price had declined 3.5% from the day’s high, prompting the exchange to approach the company to verify the accuracy of the information reported in the media.
The NSE said it is awaiting the company’s response.
Why Does NSE Seek Such Clarifications?
Stock exchanges routinely monitor trading activity and price movements in listed securities. When an unusual movement is detected, the exchange may approach the concerned company to determine whether there is any material information, corporate development or other factor that could explain the movement.
The purpose of these communications is to improve transparency and ensure that investors have access to relevant information that could influence their investment decisions.
The latest notices do not by themselves indicate any wrongdoing or regulatory violation by the companies. Rather, they represent the exchange’s effort to seek clarification and keep the market informed.
