OFFICIAL UPDATE FROM #VODAFONE ON MEASURES TAKEN TO ASSIST FLOOD AFFLICTED IN CHENNAI (TN)

 To trace missing persons in Chennai, Vodafone has launched a helpline – call 1948 from your Vodafone number in Chennai and Tamil Nadu and you will receive an SMS within 2 hours with their last called location. Alternately message your and the missing person’s name and Vodafone number to @VodafoneIN.

Vodafone also opened 7 retail stores in Chennai today for citizens to make calls and send messages free of cost. Water and light refreshments were also made available at these stores on TTK Road, Anna Nagar, Kilpauk, Royapuram, Perumbur, Avadi, Mogappair.

Additionally, to enable Chennai customers to remain connected in these difficult times, Vodafone is offering pre-approved ‘chhota credit’ of Rs.10 to all pre-paid customers and a credit of 10 minutes for Vodafone to Vodafone calling. In addition, free 100MB mobile data is being offered to all customers. The validity of the talk time credit and free data is two days. For postpaid customers whose bills are due for payment immediately, the time to make the payment is being extended. 

Despite challenges, Vodafone on ground teams are working on a war footing to tackle the situation.
