ONE YEAR OF MODI GOVERNMENT SHOULD BE SEEN AS DEDICATED FOUNDATION FOR A DECADE OF DEVELOPMENT-NITIN GADKARI

The RWA Cell of BJP Delhi Pradesh organised Jan Kalyan Parva at the Constitution Club today. Union Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari represented the Government of India in this program organised by Delhi BJP RWA Cell for directly talking to the representatives of the people on the achievements of Central Government during the last one year and the social security schemes introduced by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

Pradesh BJP President Shri Satish Upadhyay presided over the function in which MPs Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi, Shri Ramesh Bidhuri, Shri Manoj Tiwari, Leader of the Opposition in Delhi Assembly Shri Vijender Gupta, SDMC Mayor Shri Subhash Arya, EDMC Mayor Shri Harsh Malhotra, Pradesh Office bearers Shri Ashish Sood, Smt. Rekha Gupta, Shri Abhay Verma, Shri Jai Prakash, Smt. Sikha Rai, Smt. Vishakha Shailani, RWA Cell Convenor Shri Pankaj Wadhawan and representatives of about one thousand RWAs of Delhi were present on this occasion.

Shri Satish Upadhyay said that as an Indian citizen I find two major achievements of Shri Narendra Modi Government. Firstly neither the government nor its ministers have been accused even once of corruption during the last one year. The second achievement is that the Government has taken initiative on development projects besides social welfare measures likes Beti Padhao-Beti Bachao, Swacch Bharat Abhiyan, Jan-Dhan Yojna and tried to connect with every Indian citizen.

Leader of the Opposition in Legislative Assembly Shri Vijender Gupta said that on the one hand the respect for the Indians has increased in the first year of Shri Narendra Modi Government and on the other hand he has raised hope for employment among the youth. The Government has also setup special fund for the dalit entrepreneurs and the MUDRA Bank established by the Government will provide loan at cheap rates to the small traders who had to depend on money lenders.

Union Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari said that Shri Narendra Modi took over as PM in a very dissuading phase when all circumstances were adverse. The government was tainted with corruption especially at minister’s level. The level of governance had been badly affected due to indecisiveness on the part of the erstwhile Prime Minister. Ten years of constant corruption belittled whatever little development that took place. The farmers for whom Congress never really cared during its almost six decades of rule suffered the most between 2004-14 as the UPA government never conceived any policy for farming and farmers all over went into debts during last decade.

Shri Gadkari said the present government which came to power in such adverse situations has worked hard and this one year of Modi Government should be seen as a dedicated foundation for a decade of development. Today we have a Prime Minister who does not have his own home but is working hard to ensure that every landless gets land and every homeless his own home within next decade.

Appealing to the RWAs to contribute in the government efforts Shri Gadkari said that all citizens should come forward to take part in Swacch Bharat Abhiyan and supporting other social welfare schemes brought by the government.

Shri Gadkari said that economic policy changes made by this government have successfully resulted in generating lakhs of crores of revenue from the sources like mines & minerals and spectrum sale which the outgoing government ministers had made a source of personal loot. He said this money now generated will go a long way to create infrastructure for both agriculture and industrial growth of the country.

Shri Gadkari said that his own Transport Ministry is trying its best to develop water transport as an alternate means of transport. While this will provide a new cheaper mode of transport one hand and on the other will ensure water and proper flow in the rivers of the country.

MP Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s Government has given the proof of its sensitivity by initiating schemes for the welfare of girl child and Nirmal Ganga project. She called upon the RWAs representatives to fully co-operate in Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

MP Shri Ramesh Bidhuri said that the Union Government is fully committed to the welfare of the poor and in the first year itself the Government has tried to provide livelihood to the poor people besides social security.

MP Shri Manoj Tiwari said that the people of Poorvanchal living in Delhi are very much thankful to the Delhi Government for declaring Chhath Pooja as a public holiday during the President’s rule. He expressed hope that the Central Government and the MCD shall work to solve the problems of the poorvanchalis living in hundreds of unauthorised colonies.
