Opposition slams Kejriwal tearing up report on CCTVs, Says it’s a political gimmick!

Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday organized a Interactive session with all market associations and RWAs
to finalise the modalities of installing CCTV cameras across Delhi.

Leading to the controversy, especially after LG Anil Baijal formed a committee to draft a policy on CCTV Installation.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal took his fight with Lieutenant Governor, Anil Baijal, to another level by tearing apart a report of the LG committee on installing CCTV cameras in Delhi.

The Opposition criticised arvind Kejriwal political mega meet and called his act of tearing the report a political gimmick.

"There’ve been reported instances of misuse of CCTVs for intrusion&compromises on privacy of individuals. Use of surveillance camera system shouldn’t be permitted to become tool to violate privacy of individuals which has been held to be fundamental right by SC." LG Office Response.

Leader of opposition at Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta too slamming Arvind Kejriwal said,

“In the last three-and-a-half years, the government has failed to govern and not delivered promises like WiFi, Lokpal, Swaraj Bill or CCTV. On one hand Kejriwal tears the draft report but on the other hand Satyendar Jain writes to L-G to extend the last date seeking comments on the report."
