Over 200 women entrepreneurs showcase exciting product lines at IHGF Delhi Fair 2022

Greater Noida –1st April 2022: Gajendra Singh Patel, Lok Sabha Member from Khargone, Madhya Pradesh, visited the IHGF Delhi fair on Friday. He interacted with the exhibitors and was happy to see the variety on display at the fair.

Over 200 women entrepreneurs and women led businesses are among the 2500+ exhibitors at IHGF Delhi Fair 2022. They are exporters, designers, entrepreneurs and crafts persons – all playing significant roles and positively influencing the way the world looks at this sector.  They have inspired, nurtured and successfully led many women and youth towards gainful employment and financial independence. Happy with the response to their products, they reiterate that this platform has been instrumental in their market exposure, confidence building, growth and success.

Ferry Mulder from Germany says “My trade with India through this fair is over 20 years now. I source Furniture and home décor. I am meeting my regular suppliers and making  connections with first time exhibitors too.”  John Allan from United Kingdom is happy to be at the fair. He says, “40% of my trade is from India but I want to increase it to 75% now. The products here are marvelous, I see a lot of creativity here.”

Craft demonstrations on carpet making and papier machie at the J&K Theme Pavilion are attracting many visitors. Seminars by leading industry professionals on Evolving Trends in Forex Management, Social Listening to Grow Brands and How to DIY your Brand, were well attended. Ramp Shows taking place in daily sequences featured some rarely seen artisanal apparel, jewellery and accessories from Ladakh among other products. Cultural and folk performances at the fair venue are also enthusing overseas visitors.

EPCH is a nodal agency for promoting exports of handicrafts from the Country to various destinations of the world and projecting India’s image abroad as reliable supplier of high quality of handicrafts goods & services. Handicrafts exports during the year 2020-21 was Rs. 25679.98 (US $ 3459.75 Million) and the estimated exports during April-February 2021-22 is Rs. 29626.96 Crores (US $ 3981.72 Million) during eleven months of 2021-22 informed by Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Director General, EPCH.
